CLAROX® PL

FILTER CARTRIDGES

For trap filtration after D.E. and PVPP precoat filters

Characteristics

CLAROX® PL are absolute rated cartridges, combining the benefits of surface and depth filtration. They are especially designed to retain remaining particles after D.E., PVPP or other precoat filters. CLAROX® PL cartridges ensure product safety in case of precoat breakthroughs.

The pleated construction enlarges the effective filter area which results in higher dirt holding capacity and significantly longer service life compared to conventional spin-wound cartridges. CLAROX® PL cartridges are completely made of polypropylene.

Advantages
  • High flow rate
  • High dirt holding capacity
  • Long filtration cycles
  • Filter material is food grade and fibre free
  • Very good chemical resistance
  • Easy cleaning by backflushing
FILTROX quality assurance

FILTROX assures the best quality control according to international standards:

  • ISO 9001 (Quality management)
  • ISO 14001 (Environmental management)
  • HACCP
Global migration test

CLAROX® PL filter cartridges meet European directives 82/711/EEC, 80/128/EEC, 92/39 EEC, 93/8 EEC, 93/9 EEC, 2002/72 EC and 2004/19 EC «Global migration test for extractables».

Biological safety

Component materials meet the USP specifications for class VI – 121°C biological tests for plastics.

Chemical Resistance

Will withstand strong acids and alkalis, light oxidising and reducing agents, electroplating, and organic solvents. Not compatible with strong oxidising agents, e.g. 98% sulphuric acid, fumic nitric and bromic acid; CHC and aromatic solvents, e.g. benzene, toluene.

Instruction for Regeneration and Sterilisation

The following steps have to be performed every day after filtration:

  • Rinse the cartridges with cold water in opposite direction of filtration for approx. 10 min.If possible rinse the cartridges with 1½ times the previous filtration flow.
  • Rinse the cartridges with warm water of 40 – 50° C. (to dissolve proteins) in opposite direction of filtration for approx. 10 min. This step of regeneration should also be done with 1½ times the previous filtration flow.
  • Increase the temperature to 80 – 90°C and hold this temperature for 20 – 30 minutes. This step should be done in direction of filtration.
  • Cool down the filter with cold water and leave the filter until the next filtration with a pressure of approx. 1 bar.
  • Cleaning with a 2% NaOH solution is also possible. The temperature can be up to 60° C.

Ensure that the water used for the regeneration and sterilisation is free of lime and rust. We recommend to filter the water with cartridges that have a similar micron rating as the CLAROX® PL you are regenerating.
